Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet

This Sound Excavation has been created as part of a research/creation residency at Avatar’s studio in June 2013. It is a continuation of “Les invisibles” project, which involved accumulating hundreds of recordings of sound ambiances from human situations caught on the spot.

This 90-minute “Album” is designed to create spatiality and artificial situations for various pre-recorded tracks from Les invisibles project. Intentionally imagined as ambient sound, (Wonder Woman’s Invisible Jet) Album invites our brains to extrapolate, even play directly with the track by adding sounds to it. Still, if you keep your ears open, you can distinguish a dozen “tracks”, impromptu daily scenes that take place mostly in Quebec City. You then realise that it is not really possible to hear compositions, sounds of human activities and mechanical systems separately. Each recording, at its original location, appeared as an addition, and together they form an obscure narrative.
