Mormorii
Mormorii Fiona Annis (2017)

Fiona Annis is in residency for the development of the exhibition « Mormorii » that will be held from November 9 to December 17 at the Galerie des arts visuels de l'Université Laval in Québec City.

Fiona Annis uses a wide range of media and hybrid technologies, including sound, to explore the tensions between concept and material, and to select processes and rhythms that amplify ideas. Her current research at Avatar is in line with the development of her project Mormorii, which is about to be exhibited at the Galerie des arts visuels, in Québec City. It consists of a series of lullabies recorded by the artist. The pulsations and the rhythms of the voice produce a transition from one state to another, an echo that seems to emerge from an older time.
